It can't rain all the time...
Can it?
Within 24 hours, we've learned of the deaths of peaberry and now of karacat from #callahans.
I'm numb. She's survived by her husband, nilptr (also from #callahans) and five children. When does it stop?
Victims.. aren't we all?

No.
While I'm sadden by the death of someone I knew (and by the second death which has saddend people I care for), I am not a victim of it. Or anything.
Sorry for the strident note in a solemn time, but I learned to hate that word during my battle with cancer. People keep calling me a victim, like some crime had been committed. I wasn't a victim, I was a human being with a bad gene sequence. It happens, it is an illness. It's natural.
As is death, and mourning a death, but please don't use that word.
