God, I want to get stoned this weekend. It's been far too long since I've been good and ripped.
Mainly because I haven't needed to be, I guess. Ever since I moved to Missouri in '95, I haven't needed to do a lot of the things I was fascinated to the point of obsession(sp?) with.
For instance, those who know me from back then know just how obsessed with The Crow I was. Since then, I have run my videotape of it exactly once, and that only because I want to record the audio to get choice bits for DJing work.
I don't watch Doctor Who constantly, or write fan fiction about it.
I don't constantly have this need to be away from the house - be it by traveling or being a social gadfly - because my life at home is so awful as to induce panic attacks over bagging toasted buns at Wendy's. True story, there.
I don't even enjoy travelling to conventions as much as I did. Oh, I enjoy myself while I'm there. But there's always that insistent little part of me the entire time that's reminding me of the things I could be doing if I were home. Like, say, skritchin' my kittycats or watching Iron Chef. Or lying on the waterbed and reading. You get the idea.
I guess I'm just getting old. Moomf.
