It occured to me just now that my problems all along with the whole situation hasn't been what was done, but the cack-handed way it was done.

Much like I predicted way back when, they didn't get paid by the hour on this one. They got in, and it was wham, bam, goodbye Saddam(ha!). My biggest single complaint is the apparent utter lack of thought given to the after effects. In my mind, far more planning as to the post-war reconstruction and restabilitization than is evident.

Besides - what in the name of Curry Almighty were they THINKING advertising the invasion so far in advance? They may as well have sent a telegram to Hussein saying "We'll be here on this day at this time coming from this direction". IF, and I say IF Hussein got shed of the alleged WMDs, they certainly gave him and his enough warning and time to do it.

Now, as to politics in general: in seems to me that politics are not an intellectual exercise, as much as we'd like to think so. It seems to me politics are an inherently emotional exercise. If you don't believe me, watch otherwise intelligent people go stark slavering buggo when you say anything that contradicts their core political beliefs.
Okay, folks. Here's the deal:

As most of you know, this past weekend I got a Netgear router. Well, it didn't work out and I went back to plugging straight into my ethernet card. Since that time, my IP address resolutely refuses to resolve into any kind of a hostmask. Not in IRC, not FTP, not anything. Any ideas? See, when you switch from one computer to another, or router to ethernet card (or some such like that), Mediacom gives you a new IP. Help!
