Big ol' hairy fuckin' WHOOPSIE!

Hear that sound, gentle readers? That sound you hear is SOMEbody's sphincter tightening so much their head sunk down between their shoulderblades.
My wife said to me.. do y' mind if I wear my hair in a bun? I told her I don't care if y' wear it in a loaf o' bread! AHAHA! Oh, dear, oh, dear. My wife's always on a diet, my wife, always on a diet. She's on one now she eats nothin' but coconuts an' bananas. That's all, coconuts an' bananas. She 'asn't lost any weight, but y' ought t' see 'er climb trees!

(Why, yes, I did get a whole bunch of Tommy Cooper recently. Why do you ask?)
Okay.

In a bid to really get us set into place for the (hopefully) deluge of listeners we'll get as a result of our impending visit to Convergence 10, we're setting up with a dedicated server courtesy of our esteemed webfolk, Incrediby Gay Hos.. I mean, Skyfire Hosting. I expect I'll find the page is suddenly translated into Farsi or something. Sorry. It's just getting late and I'm feeling a touch loopy.

We're also getting set up to be all nice and licensed through a co-op internet radio licensing thingy. This will include two changes to Radio N, itself. One will be jacking in will at the point we go live with these folks, you'll go to our station's page on their site to jack in. Don't worry, I'll change the Jack In links on the Radio N site to point you directly to the given page so it'll be painless as possible.

The second change will pertain to requests. To keep the station in line with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, requests will be delayed by an hour. To keep folks from clogging up the queues, the request ratios will changes but not to anything too entirely onerous. It'll be something like four every ten or something.

On to programming news, we'll soon be debuting two new shows: Gorilla Radio (courtesyof [livejournal.com profile] murnkay, and Radio Geekboy (courtesy of Graveyard Greg, demented genius behind Gaming Guardians. I'll keep you folks posted as to their debuts.

Now, for Radio N business news: this new dedicated server will cost us 75 dollars a month, but that includes a fairly sizable output of 100 gigs a month. Unless I miscalculate badly, that'll allow us to add a higher speed stream as well. That is where the business part of this comes in, folks. 75 bucks a month for the server plus 40 bucks a month for two streams plus 25 a month for the licensing to keep us from getting our asses sued off equals We Need Advertisers. I know certain folks have asked about ads right on the website, but frankly I haven't had time to consider that yet but I will by this weekend. For now, let's go with the audio ad rates that are posted on the website on the - tada - Ads page. I'm not sure about carrying on with the free ads for banner placement deal, as we need money. But I digress, dear readers.

Moving on, the station's main playlist will remain 90% gothic/industrial with a few other bits thrown in to keep things interesting. But really, Radio N is what the listener makes it. You want a Swing tune? Request it. You want 80's? Request it. As a wise man once told me (Bless you, Professor Hitchcock), "It's not about what I want to hear. It's not about what you want to hear. It's about what *they* want to hear". He also said "I love radio. Where else do you get paid to sit in a closet for four hours a day, play music, and talk to yourself?"

Sorry for the uncut lengthy post, but I just wanted to get this all out there for you folks.
