I do love the sound of sphincters loosening in Washington.
First, there's this: The commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks said on Thursday that it was pressing the White House to explain why the Bush administration had blocked thousands of pages of classified foreign policy and counterterrorism documents from former President Bill Clinton's White House files from being turned over to the panel's investigators.
Then the second "Oh, F*CK!" moment of the week for the folks at 1600: A federal judge ordered several government agencies to release documents related to an energy policy task force led by Vice President Dick Cheney.
""The court's ruling is a wake-up call to the Bush administration: it's time to come clean about how it is doing the public's business," said Sharon Buccino, an NRDC senior attorney."
As the LinkFilter poster that alerted me to this story put it:
A GIANT win for freedom and justice in America. Shit is going to hit the fan when America sees that the plan to invade Iraq began here.
If that is indeed the case, then they may as well start packing now.
