This is one of my Video Holy Grails, folks.

The one and only time I've ever videotaped and kept an ABC's New Year's Rockin' Eve was the year Weird Al and The Presidents Of The USA were two of the musical guests. I very literally played the tape to death, going over and over Al's performances. The expression on the Presidents' faces when Al did "Gump" was something to behold as they knew they were in the presence of greatness and the crowd doing the wave back and forth bit during Amish Paradise was awesome.

Anyway, I find myself really missing that tape this morning. I am hoping beyond words even one of you out there has a copy of that year's show. Yes, I'm insane but a man can dream!

I know it's merely a matter of routine, but oh my is it sweet to read the following sentence:

But wait, it gets better (and should only be taken as rumor, folks, I hasten to stress this):

You know, Bill Maher was right when he said the absolute worst thing we could do to these toads is put them back in office!
