I have something I have got to tell you folks. 70 years ago tonight unquestionably one of the most famous radio broadcasts in history took place, the Mercury Theatre On The Air's infamous War Of The Worlds broadcast. It was listening to a recording of this program as a wee Doc that told me I needed to be a part of something so powerful and entertaining.
Tonight at 8 p.m. eastern I will be presenting that famous broadcast, followed by the 40th anniversary musical version from 1978 composed by Jeff Wayne. Following that, I will broadcast The Alan Parsons Project: Tales Of Mystery And Imagination, a CD of music based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. All of this will be preceeded at 7 p.m. eastern by an hour of music selected by yours truly. Of course I'll post in here when the show is underway.
We take you now to Grover's Mill, New Jersey..
