You have nothing to be ashamed of in your vote in 2000; Gore did run an incredibly lackluster campaign, and Bush had one of the best Spin Machines in the world working for him...a lot of people wanted to buy into the 'compassionate conservative' image, especially if they had though that this was a return to sane conservative values instead of Religious Reich bullshit. All just my opinion, of course...but hey, small comfort that nearly half the the people who voted agreed with you, neh?

2004, I've seen *tons* of signs that people are still conservative, but think Bush has really gone over the edge. Whether or not that will be sufficient to counteract the "fear premium", the voter suppression/fraud efforts, and the spin, remains to be seen...less than 72 hours...
