So King George The Mad was innaugurated today, huh?

Doesn't matter. He's still a filthy, lying, two-faced scumbag religious extremist with all the wit, charm and grace of pencil shavings. I hate the man with a passion. He and his policies - or at least the policies his puppetmaster Karl Rove tells him he can have - are the stuff of nightmares. Be damned with him and everything he stands for.

You'll have your chance again in '08.

Clinton v. Rice. I'm looking forward. :-)

Well .. yes.

On the other hand, I understand he has a fine singing voice and is kind to small animals.

"He's still a filthy, lying, two-faced scumbag religious extremist with all the wit, charm and grace of pencil shavings. "

...and those are his "good" qualities (shudder)

I treated today as a day of mourning.

The sadest thing is that hating him is like taking poison and waiting for *him* to die. He isn't worth the effort to hate.

The kennels where we keep dogs recovering from surgery has a radio in it. We usually keep it tuned into NPR because the dogs seem to find the sounds of humans talking soothing. I was tending to a sweet Golden Retriever, named Addie, who had a fatty mass removed today. Addie is normally a calm and quiet sort of gal. NPR was covering the inaguration and as soon as they played a sound-clip from George W, Addie started to whine.

Smart dog.

I've a transcript of his speech over in my journal. You know what the depressing thing about it was ?

It was fine, well written speech. It was intelligent, and as far as I can tell he managed to get through it without too many fubars. [must've been practicing that one since Nov !]
And yet...
He still sounds like a bloody chimp!

I mean, it's almost completly divorced from reality and it put's more gloss on events than a super-model's lips. Yet you can still see through it like it was Claude Rains on a good day!

The man really is an appalling little oik!

Jon Stewart kindly provided me a tiny ray of hope and comfort in all of this. He reminded viewers that the inauguration means Bush is more than halfway through his presidency. Every day that passes puts us closer to the end, and he has less time to serve than he has already served (and I use that term very lightly). Thanks, Jon Stewart, small comforts are better than none at all.
