Fine. There's nothing specifically in the Constitution about separation. I am just frustrated beyond belief that some miserable fuckhead scum like DeLay is bastardizing religion to suit his own ends.

How that lowlife crooked bastard can sit there in his catbird seat and get away with shit that would have gotten his happy ass slapped in the chokey at just about any other point in history is beyond me.

Your frustration is certainly understandable. When Republicans or Democrats invoke theology on the stump, it's usually done for political purposes, such as oppressing homosexuals or bleeding high earners, respectively. Separation from the state is generally a very good idea, whether the other issue is church, interpersonal relations, schools, health care, or the economy. It's just that separation of church and state isn't what the establishment clause states or means.
