What is the deal with making each new Doctor progressively younger? The Doctor and his companion should not look like bleeding great contemporaries! Argh!

Maybe there aren't enough older actors that have starred in previous RTD productions... Both Eccleston and Tenant have been leads for him...

Actually that's what I understood the Doctor's transformations were supposed to be. Each time he becomes a bit younger. It is like a reverse aging thing. Eventually he'll be a 12 year old.
