It's not about good or bad acting. It's about having some kind of passing resemblance to Theodore Roosevelt. I really don't think merely the glasses and mustache, as distinctive as they are, are enough to present a convincing illusion.

To be fair, I didn't think Michael Keaton could pull off Batman either and he sure as heck did.

Or, ultimately (gonna get flamed for this I'm sure) Tom Cruise as Lestat. I thought he did well.

He did. I mean, when the creator of the character says you did well, any further discussion is moot.

Yeah, well, she's said a lot of things I'd protest. ;-) But, my first reactions was WTF? And he pulled it off. That's what makes his latest few movies so hard to watch...
