Hey Doc ... can I pick your brain for some help related to streaming internet radio? I need to figure out how to take an Internet radio stream and extract an mp3 stream from it, so I can pipe the stream to an alarm clock that plays streaming MP3s. But I don't know how to get a straight mp3 stream out of the Internet radio stream. Thought you might know something about the subject... :)

If there is, I sure don't know about it. I can do some digging but don't hold your breath. If such a beast exists, chances are the labels have hounded it out of business but I shall indeed look.

Cool. Even just something documenting what an Internet radio stream "looks like" would be a help. I know there's payware applications out there that do it, but I just can't find any application er, information on how to extract the stream myself. All it's needed for is to add Internet-radio support to the clock via a "buffer" application on a server.

(It's not like it's a commercial threat to anyone. This is for a custom alarm clock of which four examples exist in the world, and of which there won't ever be any more because the OLED display used in the design has been discontinued. The guy who built them could redesign it around a different display, but it's not worth his while because he couldn't make money on them anyway unless he charged over $200 each.)
