It was a cold, wet night in November

46 years ago tonight, an old man took two teachers into time and space.

Do you think anyone else actually got the reference in your subject line?

Dear god, but I can still remember seeing the video at a DWFCA event. It was on a PAL machine run through about eight thousand patch cables to broadcast on an NTSC monitor, and as such we got it in black and white...or blue and white...or neon green and white....

And you met ol' "Rubbish beard" himself.

Indeed I did, though that was at another event (indeed, I met him twice, both at conventions I worked). The guest at this was Patrick Troughton, in one of his first-ever appearances in the States; knowing this, I went over to him near the end of the day to thank him for making the trip. He kissed me and my best friend on the cheek, and we both started jumping up and down as though we'd just won Family Feud. ;-)

That was Pat for you, he just loved the fans. (You know wherever Ant was, he heard that line of Davison's and just laughed and laughed and laughed.)
