Update on the legal situation with Herself from August

For late arrivals to this little saga, the situation was and is detailed here.

The county prosecutor is being a real dick and insisting on a "trial" over all this, and on a sub 200 dollar check that's already long since been paid off. That's tomorrow. I need some major league signal boosting on this as the whole situation is grossly unfair, and yes yet again I want to try and pass the hat to set off any legal expenses (fines and what not) she might get out of this. We need this fast and plenty of it and thank you all so very much in advance. I hate to do this but we simply don't have the resources right now and I have to reach out to you folks one more time.

Please, please, please boost the signal on this folks. I'm not joking when I say we need as much as we can get as fast as we can get it as this deal goes down tomorrow afternoon. I'd purely love to be able to have this all set by the time she comes home from work today if possible.

Apparently not. THEY have proof the fee was paid, and he's doing this anyway.

I'd rather not trust to luck, though, if you understand what I mean.

Entirely. But consider having $ATTORNEY submit a motion to the judge specifically noting that the prosecutor is wasting the court's time by dragging you into court over an under-$150 check that both the prosecutor and the court know has long since been paid, which would never even have became an issue had either the payee or the bank bothered to notify you that it had failed to clear, and asking that the case be summarily dismissed with prejudice.

Sounds to me like this prosecutor is just plain being a wanker because he can. He has people he can beat up that he doesn't think have the resources to fight back, so he's taking the opportunity to kick you while you're down, just because you're there.

It's one of those situations I'd rather have the money and not need it (at which point I'd just "refund" it back to folks) than need it and not have it. I don't dare trust to chance, especially since chance has shone itself to be partial to kicking me and mine in the wrinly bits with great enthusiasm.
