My legal research-fu fails me
It seems the swine at Jacobs Realty were able to hide the eviction and lien because they were never filed under Ranada's name, they were filed under mine and I was never even on the lease. I'm no Perry Mason, but isn't that illegal?

If you weren't on the lease
An apt complex has dinged my credit pretty bad because I refused to pay $650 to replace the carpets.
After 5 years - they replace the carpets. Kevin lived there for 6 years. He did not have to pay for new carpets.
But when I moved in later, my name went on the lease and technically lived there for only 4 years.

No you can't lean something against someone if your name isn't on the lease (or title/deed in the case of ownership). Of course, if you've already moved/paid money, etc., then you're SOL for that anyway. When something is liened or someone is evicted, that's a matter of public record. The applicable state/county records office would have that information since it requires law enforcement action to be taken. That stuff doesn't just disappear. However, I don't suppose you have any copy of the lease? W/o that, I'd say there's a likely chance your name is going to appear on it in some form whether you knew it was on there or signed anything or not.
