I'd move to Canada in a heartbeat, but..

I refuse to let morons like this take over the country.

If you want a truly amusing take on it by a truly cool guy, go here. Dan rocks my socks.

You'd look so adorable out there in a furry parka with the polar bears.

OK, my next purchase is going to be Minstrel In The Gallery on CD.

I think they are so shocked because Ian was right. There is more to patriotism than hanging a flag off an antenna. We have a small US flag on our balcony, along with an Army flag. I'm also a veteran, vote, serve on juries without complaint, stay informed, and do things above those required by law to keep my nation great.

A couple of weeks ago, I was in the parking lot at the Oakridge Mall, and passed a SUV with the most faded, shredded, torn, and frayed US flag I have ever seen hanging from the antenna. A lady was putting purchases in the back, so I stop and politely told her that such a flag wasn't really respectful, and that if she was going to display one, it needed to be kept in good condition, and that the American Legion os happy to collect old, worn flags for respectful disposal.

She called me un-American. Screamed that I didn't deserve the title of American, and I didn't know what being an American meant.

People make me depressed.

Bill Maher, with whom I disagree frequently, summed this up beautifully:

Fly the flag. It's the least you can do...literally.
