You're probably going to see this a lot today. If your soul is so shrivelled you get pissed at people posting about trying to help somebody out who has lost everything they own thanks to a fire, then pray I never meet you. Anyway, here we go.

[livejournal.com profile] kittybecca's house has burned down, and her family has lost everything - she and the kids and their pets got out, but nothing else did. Nothing.

They now own nothing. No clothes but the ones on their backs. The kids lost clothes, toys, books, everything that they have ever owned.

Help them. As [livejournal.com profile] angryvixen, who knows [livejournal.com profile] kittybecca from their CD swap, said: "I can't think of many people on my friends list who couldn't spare $5 to help them out.. So how about it folks?"

The donation page with PayPal link is here. That page also has additional size information for clothing donations for her and her two little girls. Go look there to see the extent of their loss. Please give as much as you can afford.

This very weekend, Radio Nosferatu will be stepping up to the plate with an obviously hastily planned internetathon to help raise money and materials for these folks. At this point, I have no clue what I'll run, but I/we have to do something to help this lady, her kids and her pets out. We have to.

In case you've never listened to/attended one of the Radio Nosferatu shows, here's how: you use either Winamp 5.0 (I prefer classic Winamp, myself) or RealPlayer 7.0 or later to listen to the stream. The addresses to point the listening proggies to will be in the topic line of channels #rf-callahans and #RadioNosferatu on Undernet IRC, which you point your IRC clients to. I will also be on AIM to gab with people (my ID is on my info page).

I'll also be taking requests, so let's raise some money and help this lady out! This will be going on Friday night through Sunday morning, so let's get ready to tear some shit up for a good cause!

These are the kids in question, btw:

Where is she from? I have some clothes I will be getting rid of when I move. Maybe they will fit her?

Also, I am linking this entry to my journal.

You found the cutest possible photo! BASTARD! Ok, where will they be staying? I'm moving soon and packing so I have a lot of clothes I wouldn't mind sending over.
Also, I recommend an Amazon Wishlist that will automatically send the items a person buys to the recipient. Address carefully covered.
Through Amazon you can also buy things from Target so you can cover clothes, books, toys, household appliances, and even care baskets of food.

Also with this donation - have people donate $5 per song request.
So if someone wants to pay $25 for "FreeBird" oh well... they paid for it (^_^)

Mountain and molehills, dude. What I was *referring* to were people who get bitchy in their journals about people posting to try and help people out. Easy, Simba.

You know I've had this copy of the latest Harry Potter book sitting here that everyone I've tried to give it to seems to already have. Seems like I have someone to give it to now - though I wish it could be under happier circumstances...

Not possible for me to send anything physical, shipping would be prohibative. So, $10 sent via Paypal, and I'll link to this in my journal and spread the word.

Just wish I could afford to send more.
