I couldn't read the whole thing. Your calling it "hate-filled drivel" is being very generous, IMO. I've lost a lot of respect for him now that I've seen this demonstration of his ideals and values.

I don't think it's so much hate-filled as that, whatever tolerance he may preach in his Ender/Xenocide novels, when it comes down to his life in his world he's unable to see past his Mormon upbringing. He writes Ender, Xenocide, etc on an intellectual level; he reacts to real-world events that run counter to his faith on an instinctive level. Howard Tayler, author of Schlock Mercenary, is the same way.

This doesn't make him any less misguided, of course, or any less afraid.

The hell of it is that there's a sympathetic gay character in at least ONE of his books (Songmaster), and I'm so angry with OSC for being such a bigot in his real life. It's really sad and a huge disappointment to me.

I'm more angry at the religions that TEACH that bigotry. It really takes some weird mental gymnastics to say "Love thy neighbor as thyself, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, except for that fag over there, and the nigger on the corner, you can shit on them all you like, they're not people."
