*BEAM*

For those I haven't told yet, me grandpappy's ashes are going to be interred at Arlington National Cemetery. *BEAM*

anytime we'd be marching from chapel to columbarium, I would always get metallica's "sanitarium" in my head - "CooollumBARiUUUmm"

(was in the 3rd infantry and did sometimes 3 or 4 funerals a day in Arlington - that walk is a *loong* one, but it is a beautiful park. Your gramps will be in good company:)

I was once considered for the 3rd Herd. I immediately made myself forget how to march.

I wanted to make work for other burial details, not be on one myself.

heh, I kinda went the other way - went in to be a ranger - after 2 months hanging out waiting for RIP to start (after airborne school) I looked around and realized "wow, this is *not* who I want to be..." I took the opportunity when it came. It was an interesting experience - completely different kinds of stress. I wouldn't do it again, but no regrets either.

LOL! Guess where I ended up?

3rd Battalion (Airborne), 75th Regiment (Ranger)

We may have passed in the night...
