We're finally giving in and joining the DVD crowd tomorrow. What I want is some suggestions of Must Haves as far as DVDs go.

Already on the list: Monty Python And The Holy Grail and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (big surprise, huh?), so no need to tell me 'bout those.

Thinking about our DVD shelf and pre-orders.

Harry Potter.
Fellowship of the Ring (the Nov release, not August's)
Dr Who. Maybe not remastered, but from far better masters then our local PBS station has.
StarWars I
Farscape

Surely. Even though you were a little bitch and missed part two of your own damn tribute last week. ;)

How is it I'm supposed to participate? I'm sort of several states away and stuff like that.

I mentioned this once before but I'll mention it again here:

I suggest the Hedwig and the Angry Inch Original Cast recording or Movie Soundtrack. It's another musical about a man who is so desperate to leave East Germany in the 1980's he undergoes a botched sex change operation so he can mary an American General.

Must buy it if you don't have it. It's that good.

I was hoping someone would Go There. (Yes, I really am this far behind....) Did you point him at your review?

Even his name says, "Is that a beer?"

Heh, thankees. The machine we're getting also plays DVDs so I'll finally be able to watch those old MSTs on something other than my sodding computer for once.

Firstly, I suggest Target and then Best Buy, pricewise. Target has a kick ass $9.44 DVD rack, including lots of 80s flicks (selection varies at every store, though) and some Targets even have a $5.99 rack.

Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles
Spaceballs
Amadeus
Labyrinth, Dark Crystal (these 2 come in a set for $25 at Target)
UHF (can be preordered from Amazon)
Matrix
Reefer Madness
RHPS 25th Anniversary Edition ($14.99 at Best Buy!) (ask me to forward you a really old email from Locke on finding some hidden treats on this edition) (I just saw your part about not telling you about this one... well, tough!)

Also, at Target, there's cheapo DVD racks (<$14.99) stashed around the store in places other than just Electronics. Look by the front checkout lanes, and around the housewares area (they like to put them by towels and shit for some reason). There's usually at least 2-4 racks in the store of cheapos that are not in Electronics.

Sadly, despite my usual loyalty I can't recommend Wal-Mart for DVDs.

And I forgot Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure ($9.44, Target).

And all 3 Back To The Future movies come out on DVD this summer!

And I forgot Little Shop Of Horrors and The 10th Kingdom. And Spinal Tap.

And there are a number of good online places you can get DVDs for cheap like www.digitaleyes.net/, and www.deepdiscountdvd.com.

I recommend Shrek, Blade Runner Director's Cut, The Mummy and The Mummy Returns.

You also oughta starte yerself an Anime collection. Best buy has some good stuff. but you might have to order Cowboy Bebop and Trigun

The Blue Planet
Walking with Dinosaurs
Walking with Prehistoric Beasts

(Get the BBC version of Walking with Dinosaurs it has Kenneth Brannar [sic] as narrator not the shitty Discovery editing. I suspect the BBC versions are better for the others too)
