Oh, for F****'S sake!

(snagged from [livejournal.com profile] yendi)

As insane as it might sound, the MPAA is cease and desist letters to fanfic site for using the ratings system!

No, really!

But then again the galloping paranoiacs yabbering idiots people at Freemasonrywatch.org are on the case, because the street layout of Washington is proof the whole city is Satanic.. or something.

Future headline: "Actor Christopher Eccleston was admitted to hospital today after having his head shoved up his own rectum and his bollocks kicked up between his teeth by aggrieved Doctor Who fans. On the up side, the new placement of his head renders him perfectly fit for the post of Director General of the BBC."

STOP THE PRESSES EDIT: But wait, it gets better!

Confused Cops Swarm Woman After Birth

"A woman rushing to a hospital to give birth hit a few stops along the way - first at a gas station where she delivered the baby herself, then when confused police ordered her out of the car at gunpoint."

Calgon, for f*ck's sake, TAKE ME AWAY!

Can somebody please beat the crap out of James Dobson?

(This is the same prole who railed against the evils of Spongebob Squarepants, you understand)

DOBSON: Well, it will have two consequences. One, is I think that it will open the door to the killing of those who are inconvenient for one reason or another. All a person has to do is find a judge who is willing to believe them when they say, well, my incapacitated or mentally handicapped relative wanted to die. And so it has great implications there.

(snip)

BLITZER: But Dr. Dobson, let me interrupt for a moment. If the legislative or the executive branch, for that -- for that issue, would like to change the law, they can go ahead and write new laws and get them passed. In fact, they can have constitutional amendments if they want to do that as well. There are options for the executive and legislative branches of the government to overrule, in effect, decisions made by the Supreme Court.

DOBSON: Yes, and they will use it. Let me quote to you -- I won't quote it, but tell you where it is.

The Constitution, Article III, Section I, says that the Congress shall have the right to set up and provide jurisdiction for all the courts below the Supreme Court. They can cancel them at will. They can change them. They can -- they could take away the franchise, if you will, for, say, the 9th Circuit out in California and re-establish it the next day.

They've got all kinds of power in dealing with the courts. But they haven't had the political gumption to deal with it. As a result, the courts are just telling us how -- what kind of people we are.

---

I'll tell you what kind of person you are, Dobson. You are the lowest form of life on the face of this Earth.

Since it apparently needs to be restated: a manifesto (slightly edited)

EDIT: In case you're wondering why I'm reposting this, I give you:

The Schiavo case fired fierce passions among right-to-life activists. Michael Schiavo, his lawyer George Felos and the state judge who presided over the case for years, George Greer, have all received death threats.

"James Dobson, of conservative group Focus on the Family, said judges who had failed to prolong Schiavo's life were guilty of "the cold-blooded, cold-hearted extermination of an innocent human life.""

With that, I give you the following.

---

My fellow Americans:

We have been struck a staggering blow by the foolish and short sighted re-election of the single most corrupt, morally perverse and spiritually stilted administration in living memory. But this is not the time for tears and melancholy. This indeed is a time to rise up and be counted, to raise our voices in protest, and to let the far right elite in the halls of power know we will not be denied. We must let them know we are coming for them, because we want our country back.

We will not accept the further erosion of our civil liberties. We will not accept the doctrine of war without end amen amen. We will not accept the use of pervasive fear to keep the citizens of this great nation under heel to the war mongers and fear merchants in the shadows. We cannot allow these things, we must not allow these things, and we will not allow these things.

We will not accept that religious fanaticism and party line puppetry has more of a place in determining the wishes and rights of the dying than those who love them.

We will not accept that those who claim to espouse a culture of life are credible when they then turn their other face to the world to call for the destruction of innocents in far away lands and see no irony or hypocrisy in that position.

We will not accept that it is necessary for the richest citizens of our great nation to receive more in the way of tax cuts than the parent working two and three jobs, trying to feed their families. We will not accept the stifling of scientific initiative for the sole purpose of kowtowing to narrow religious interpretation.

We will not accept that people of alternative sexualities who are expected to pay taxes, to lay their life on the line for their country if need be, or to elect an individual to represent them in the highest office our nation has to offer are not entitled to the exact same rights as those like me of heterosexual inclination. They say "civil unions" are just as good and are the same thing. Well, I say to them that we didn't accept "separate but equal" in Selma, we didn't accept it in Memphis, we didn't accept it in Hattiesburg, we didn't accept it anywhere in this great nation and we will not accept that repulsive thinking in the halls of power. We plainly and simply will not.

We will not accept the stifling and oppression of that bedrock of our society, free speech. We will especially not accept that is more proper to hide away certain words and phrases than it is for parents to do their jobs and monitor their children's listening and watching habits. In short, if you're worried about what your child is reading, hearing or seeing as well you should be, then do your job and be a parent, don't expect the goverment to be a parent for you. Because frankly, if we're supposed to protect the right of so repulsive a body as the Nazis to spew their hatred, then we must preserve the Constitutionally given right of every last citizen to call the President an asshole.

As controversial an opinion as this might be, we will not accept the removal of firearms from the life of America. We are obligated to provide for the general welfare, but we must never forget to provide for the common defense as well. Unless and until the second ammendment is repealed by common acclimation of the citizens of this land, we will not accept it.

We will not accept the removal of a woman's right to determine what goes on with her own body. To those who feel it right and proper to terrorize women who choose the path of abortion for whatever reason, I say to you your actions disgrace the Lord God and his son the risen Christ, and we will not accept it.

Finally, we will not accept that those of our enemies who think to test our resolve and attack our citizenry are to be free from retribution. Let me be clear, and let there be utterly no mistake: if you attack America, if you think to eliminate our citizens or attack our interests, your complete and final destruction will be swift and sure, and we will not accept any other outcome.

It is time for the people who hold these truths to be self evident to stand up and be counted. Raise your voice and raise your fists on high in salute, because it's long past time to take our country back from those who have disgraced it's fair name and reputation.

The fight is only beginning. Never give up. Never surrender.
