I'll chalk it up to the lateness of the hour preventing most people from having seen it yet, but it does get me down when one of my posts about dumb crap like some idiot chopping off his own unit gets far more replies than any of my political posts.

If you need to talk about it, and when you're ready to, you know where we are. (Well, mostly these days I'm only on IRC on weekends but I digress.)

Heh, its always the way on Lj isn't it? The posts you think deserve replies almost never get them.
But if you post meaningless shit, everybody is on the act. Personally, I see politics and my brain melts.
So there's my excuse.
Ridiculous though it might be.

No problem. I was just caffeine-crashing and tired, and felt a passing impulse to toot for a few bars on the ol' self-pity horn (thank you for that wonderful phrase, Spider Robinson).

Well...it is often easier to say something to the silly posts. And just 'cause there isn't a response doesn't mean the post isn't being read.:) I think you're doing a lot of good with the political posts. But the silly stuff is important too. 'Cause I'm getting scared (okay, more scared) and I can't think about the election too hard right now...I already voted (absentee, so I *KNOW* it's done and I don't have to worry about anything. Yes, that insane. Besides, I can do research online and then vote right then and there, instead of making little lists. There isn't much on the ballot in Maryland this time, but it's still damn handy. Even if I did have to find my number two pencil.:) and I'm about as vocal as I can be without losing my voice completely. So I'm kind of helpless, and without the silly (not just your silly...woudln't drop that onto your shoulders), I think I'd go insane.

Love you.

Gessi

I find your political posts informative - but really, what's there to comment about? All through my life it is a bunch of the same stuff with whomever I talk to, and no matter how important, it's getting tired - I just want election day to be here so I can vote.

You're either preaching to the choir, or to people who realize they aren't going to sway your views, so there is little to say other than "yeah" or "that's fucked."

a good penis chopping, well... that's a diversion from the regular everyday stuff that's bombarding us 24/7

Yay, off to play in traffic - and o' it should suck with the debate being in tempe tonight!

I think we're all getting a little burned out on the whole political thing. I know I usually don't get that way, but starting with Dean and through to Bush/Kerry/Nader 2004, it's been more important.

But what can you say? I frequently pass on what you have to report, but there's not a lot to report other than "thanks for the info" or the aforementioned "that's fucked up". I mean, you usually have your facts in a row, you detail your sources so we don't have to ask for them, and you write coherently. Problem is, you're doing too good of a job. ;)

That being said, I will be sorry to see you move your political commentary to another blog, because I don't have time/energy to add another site to my list. Of course, by November 3rd, I'll probably be done with politics one way or the other...

Oh, I'll always post a link to the page in question when I do one, so you won't have to worry about getting the new page worked into your routine.

Could you just setup an RSS feed? Then create a syndicated account here and people can see it on their friends page like a normal politically ranty post of yours :)

I agree...I know I read. There's alot of things I slice and dice in my head that I just don't say anything about.

I also agree...is voting day here yet, so we can just get this over with??

I know what you mean. Post something that you feel is important, and not a soul will reply to it. But if you put up something that is so outrageous that you can hardly believe it's true they will reply to it quickly. I ain't figured that out either. If you figure it out, will you please drop me a line at itzpeaches@yahoo.com cuz I'd like to know what the deal is.
