Totally non-political post - PS2 controller question

My Dual Shock 2 controller has recently started acting very strangely. To be exact, it acts as though the right hand analog stick is constantly being pushed down and to the right even though I'm not touching it. This makes it nearly impossible to do anything. Any ideas?

Buy a new one. We go through them pretty regularly...they aren't worth fixing...on the other hand, we have three working ps2s now because it took us 2 years to find a way to make "broken" ones work.
