Totally non-political post - PS2 controller question

My Dual Shock 2 controller has recently started acting very strangely. To be exact, it acts as though the right hand analog stick is constantly being pushed down and to the right even though I'm not touching it. This makes it nearly impossible to do anything. Any ideas?

My original DualShock went weak in the left analog stick and I ended up just buying a new one. They're fairly cheap, especially if you get a 3rd party one. A wanring about the 3rd party controllers, though, sometimes the pressure sensing is not the greatest.
