Volunteering at an animal shelter is one of my favorite ways to spend the weekend, actually. :)

I get to walk dogs and visit with cats - and they get love and attention from humans that care enough to stop by and spend time with them!

I'm sure that you'll enjoy it - and hopefully you'll want to do it beyond the required 40 hours! :-)

It can be heart-breaking some days (mainly when my favorite cats and dogs have been adopted), but other days, there's nothing like a happy puppy bouncing around at your feet, licking your hands and wanting to be walked, to remind you that it's all worthwhile. :)

I volunteer at an animal shelter, and I know that if something like that happened, it would be quite detrimental to them.
