In a wierd way though he does have a point... if I went to live in Israel and started complaining that all the Jewish culture there is an attempt to convert me to Judaism and they should stop I'd get called and Anti-Semite beat upside the head....
Israel was founded as a specifically Jewish state. As much as I disagree with the policies of the current Israeli government, the fact is that religion is explicitly part of why the country exists.
The United States, although containing certain Christian sects as major players in its history is, and always has been, a secular country. The Deists who founded it intended for it to be so.
Mr. O'Reilly really needs to learn some US history, or at least read some of Thomas Jefferson's writings....
absolutely true.... on paper that is. But in reality that doesn't happen. The problem is religon makes people retarded and everybody worries about pushing their own agenda and gets pissed off when others step on theirs. This is a prime example of it.
Jews feel Christians are pushing their religon on them, Christians feel Jews are trying to take away their religous celebrations. Where do you draw the line? Even better where do you draw the line in a country that has a problem seperating church and state?
Back to the original point, if you move into an area that is made of a christian majority you should expect some of that culture to be present and to a degree expect to be exposed to it and have to deal with. Same thing goes if a christian moves into a jewish neighbourhood. Should it be like that? That we can argue, but the reality of the situation is, it is what it is.
