House considers weakening ethics rules

annnnnnnd

US Said to Mull Lifetime Terror-Suspect Detentions

Why? Because they haven't got enough evidence to take them to court.. so they'll keep them in jail until they die.. or George Bush and his ilk discover the meaning of "ethics".

Ok, lets see if I get this right?
They can arrest someone, anyone, on a pretext. Accuse them of being a terrorist, and then keep them in jail for life, without a trial... because they don't have enough evidence to bring them to trial ?!!

Lettres de'cachet by any other name then.

And I wonder why they want to weaken the House ethics rules...NOT!

What next, President for life Bush? Lifetime Immunity from prosecution for him should he actually retire in 2008? Privitisation of all Government departments? Merger of the Office of Homeland Security, with the Police and the Army?

Gah...

what's next

a turkish prison..but no it's an american one...and he brings us down lower on the rungs of ethical treatment of human beings...until we are becoming a country much like the one we just invaded (Iraq) who holds prisoners for life without the "luxury" of a trial, use torture as a means of questioning, and force their beliefs down the throats of their citizens..yeah so when is the rest of th world going to invade us to set things to rights?

Uh-huh, and what makes you think anyone else would make the same mistake that Bush did ? Or a worse one, given that 'merika is rather bigger than Iraq.

I think my point was that Bush and his puppeteers are friggin lunatics who think that they have the right to treat people (and other countries) anyway they like because we have more man/gun power. No other President in US history has been this obscene with his abuse of power. Yes, we have invaded countries before intered our own citizens illegally (such as during world war 2)however these abuses were held accountable by the american and even world public and rectified. Bush however refuses to be held accountable for anything and is in fact trying to pass (and has passed) laws so that he will not ever be held accountable for serious human rights invasions. What makes me think that anyone else would make the same mistake bush did? I DON'T think anyone else would have made the same mistake other than those people in his circle. He is throwing people in jail for opposing him and his decisions and opposition was the only way to bring about realization of injustices and set things to rights. He has made us no better than the facist dictator he is supposedly freeing Iraq from.

Hmm, think I should've included my < irony> tags.

I meant to imply that nobody but Bush would do something quite as monumentaily stupid or behave as arrogantly! I guess I was being laconic to the point of being cryptic.
