The RHIS FAQ, now in stereo!

...The persons responsible for translating this FAQ into stereo have been
sacked. We now return you to the original mono version.

(1) How do you do this?

Well, it's a combination of two things. On the technical end, we have the
"movie" courtesy of the Audience Par-tic-i-pation double CD set streamed
via ShoutCast. We do AP lines via IRC in a channel named #rf-callahans on
Undernet IRC. That's the simple explanation. Then there's the *other*
stuff. For the ShoutCast portion, you can use just about any decent audio
player out there, these days. Check and make sure it's capable of receiving
streaming audio, though. For Windows folken, Winamp and RealAudio 7.0 and
up are the most widely known proggies. For the IRC portion, you can use just
about any irc client. Just point it to Undernet on Friday and Saturday nights
(unless otherwise noted) and then join #rf-callahans.

(2) Other stuff?

When we first started doing this *mumblemumble* years ago all we *did* was
A.P. lines. Then we decided to take, as nicknames, the names of our
favorite characters. That evolved into doing bits from the movie, in
character, via the /me command. For example, the command

/me bops up the aisle to the throne

translates to everyone else in the channel as:

FrnkNFrtr bops up the aisle to the throne.

Assuming of course, your nick happens to be FrnkNFrtr at the time, but I think
you probably knew that.

(3) Okay, great! Weird, but great.

Oh, it gets better. Once we decided on doing the whole show in character,
we started pitching in little "role plays".

(4) Is that anything like when you have me put on the rubber lizard suit
and you pretend to be the insurance salesman from Altoona named Morty?

*SHHHH*. No, we started RP'ing stage business, and cast interaction. For
instance, you might get:

FrnkNFrtr: (Dammit! I left the lid off my whiteface last week. Kiri, do
you have any spare?)
Magenta slides Frnk some whiteface.

Actually, Kiri has plenty to spare. Kids, there's a *reason* she's known
as our Community Chest. ;)

(ducks quickly)

Anyway, we do stuff like that. Gives more of a full feel to the experience.

(5) Isn't that a little, you know, nuts?

Well, let me explain something. By and large, the folks involved with
putting on this splendid madness on an even semi-weekly basis don't have an active
Rocky cast near them. Some do, but do this simply to have fun. So, we
decided to make our own fnarkling Rocky Horror experience, and it's really
taken off.

We've actually performed live, once, with the Denver RHPS cast Denver's Dynamic Tension
a few summers back.

(6) Interesting. Do you do anything else with this?

Naked oiled jockstrap wrestling with prunes and whipped cream. Oh, yeah, and the usual
preshow musical insanity.
