"The American Legion will stand against anyone and any group that would demoralize our troops, or worse, endanger their lives by encouraging terrorists to continue their cowardly attacks against freedom-loving peoples," Thomas Cadmus, national commander, told delegates at the group's national convention in Honolulu.

I would like to believe that this is not what springs to the minds of most people when presented with the topic of "Lessons of the Vietnam War." Maybe I'm going out on a limb here.

I served so people could enjoy the right to protest. It really makes me mad when the troops don't see that is one of the foundations of our country.
