Big Time Important: Radio Nosferatu goes to work

Specifically, people, it's time to put Radio Nosferatu to work helping raise money and materials for the poor souls down on the Gulf Coast. I know a lot of folks aren't going to be around this weekend because of Labor Day, but both this weekend, next weekend and probably a few weekends after that I'm going to be helping get info out there, raise as I said money and materials for the hurricane victims, and try and raise spirits a little.

Besides the obvious I need from you folks, I also need the word spread about the shows, this weekend obviously but especially next weekend after Labor Day. The more people I can get this information and fund/material raising out to, the better. I'm not doing this as some kind of publicity stunt for the station, I seriously want to help and this is the best way I know how. I'm also gathering stuff around here to send, as well so I'm very literally putting my money where my big ol' mouth is.

More info later.

I'm a Mormon chick, most of you know that. We are having a special fast for these people. We skip a couple of meals and donate the cash we would have spent on grub to the relief agencies the church has established in the areas. During the fast we try to pray/focus special energy to the people in need. It's a idea and you can do with it what you will, but prayerful fasting is accepted in many religions when you want to kick it up a notch.

x-posted to my journal, bc you made me think of this.

Well, my father is subcontracting for a company that is working for Fema... so I got a job, and I'm heading back to Mississippi next wednesday with a hundred people or so...
we're doing what is called "Project Blue Roof" where we're gonna be tarping holes in peoples houses... we aren't going to be working New Orleans because of the lake and all, but we're going to be all along the coast of MS.
Wish us luck.
Maybe you'll see me on CNN.
