Republican lawmakers are drafting new legislation that will make
marriage a requirement for motherhood in the state of Indiana,
including specific criminal penalties for unmarried women who do
become pregnant "by means other than sexual intercourse."

I just have no words.

My strong suspicion is that this legislation is an underhanded way of saying 'Lesbians won't be allowed to have and raise children in our glorious God-fearing state. Oh, and if we can figure out how to whomp single mothers or anybody else who doesn't get married and fuck in the missionary position only on church-approved days solely for the purpose of begetting children in a Christian marriage, so much the better.'

But this is of a piece with other legislation aimed at suppressing 'immoral (read homosexual) lifestyle choices'.
