Sparked by today's Washington Post story that suggests Vice President Cheney's office is involved in the Plame-CIA spy link investigation, government officials and advisers passed around rumors that the vice president might step aside and that President Bush would elevate Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Cheney and his wife both have made it very, very clear on numerous occasions he wants no part of running in 2008. For one thing, the man has a bum ticker and quite simply wants to go home. Check out his body language on the rare occasions you even see the man anymore. He's sorry he ever got involved in this, I think.
