Well, color me incredulous.

I've long ago come to terms with the evil that is built in video and audio boards on computers. Sort of like N-Sync: not something you can do much about, so you pretty much ignore it.
Now, I'm proceeding tonight with setting up XP as a dual boot and all is proceeding swimmingly. Until one of the next to last reboots after XP finishes installing. It comes back up, but my monitor doesn't. I figure "Ah, I just have to connect it to the built in card and away we go."
I go to do this - only to discover the friggin' thing has a male receptacle (or whatever the hell it's called). Dear reader, look at the your monitor plugin at some point when your computer is off and tell me this, have you ever seen even one damned monitor the DOESN'T plug into the computer with a male plug?
So here I sit, unable to finish setting up XP because my fool damned computer won't recognize the videocard I use until after I set up XP! I have to go get a male-to-male adapter before I can even finish the frigging thing! It's beyond belief! ARGH!
Any advice on how I might be able to get around this would be greatly appreciated.
