Okay, folks. I haven't gotten *express* permission to do it, but it's popping up all over the place anyway so I might as well go ahead (and please be aware the stuff has been cut/pasted from an entry in gothconvergence originally by aetiglathpz plus the info that's been all over the place):

There is a warrant out for the arrest of William Hamlet Hunt.
White male approximately 27 years old, slender 5'11"
New Orleans Police Department case number D13626.
NOLA PD phone (504) 658-6727, 822-1111 or 911 from within New Orleans.

Also known as "Will" or "Billy" he may be in the New Orleans area or hanging around in Alabama: Auburn or Birmingham.

"My left cheekbone is fractured in 8 places, broken in 3; my eye socket is broken in two; my nose is broken; my septum is torn; my jaw is fractured in two places; my bite is off and my teeth are misaligned; part of my cheekbone is floating in my cheek; and, if he had kicked me with ONE MORE OUNCE OF PRESSURE I would have died."

Please help us find him, if you have ANY information contact the NOLA police department...

I'm pretty sure everybody who has surfed LJ or myspace lately has seen the bulletins of Heather being assaulted. More info is on Heather's LiveJournal and Heather's Myspace regarding the matter. Here are more pictures of William Hamlet Hunt. Pictures are from Heather's LJ.

**It is important to note that this guy is on the run and could very well be anywhere by now. He may even still be in NOLA.

**He is adaptive and can change his appearance and demeanor. It is better focus on his face than hair color as he can easily dye it. He might have a couple days growth on a beard or be clean shaven.

**He might be wearing glasses, take note of eyebrows and eye shape and color.

**He might be wearing normal civilian cloths now and not black. Easier to hide.

**He has tattoos on both arms.(edit picts of tattoo's added)

Then, at least I could understand why I've seen it so often on my flist today, in comms that have nothing to do with the con or the goth society, etc. If she were a "personality", maybe I could see why it was gathering so much attention.

Right now, she's no different to me than Jane Q. Public at the battered woman's shelter, or Margaret D. People in the ER. I'm really not understanding why she's getting so much attention, and (pardon the phrasing) everyday beatings do not. I agree, every incident should be publicly acknowledged. I'm just very confused as to why everyone seems to have latched onto this one.

i think because it happened at convergence is the main reason... i'm sure lots of people know her through meeting her there... hearing about the incident, and now people are on the lookout.

Simply because she was/is willing to talk about it.

She's NOT willing to be a victim.

I think for the most part people do care, they're talking about THIS one case because THIS one case is the one they've heard about, the one they know, the one they can say something about because they got it from 'the horses' mouth'

Because it's livejournal, and it feels like community, because it's livejournal and she is no one in particular, it reminds us all that it could be any one of us.

she happens to be a friend of a friend and she also happens to have many LJ friends who care and want the word out...and I, being a compassionate human being, care about her and anyone else who would be in her position..regardless of fame or lack there of

Why should you care? Because if we didn't care about other humans we would be a sad sad lot.
