Michael Moore rules the world.

What follows is a transcription of Michael Moore's acceptance speech for the Oscar given him and his team for "Bowling For Columbine".

Note: Don't bother giving me a rough time over this, because I frankly don't care and will ignore it. No, what I'll do is give it the MST3K treatment like it deserves.

For the record: I support the troops, without reservation. But I do not support this war. There's a difference. I can't, in good conscience, and I won't. Period. If you want to support the war, bless ya. I don't.

Whoa. On behalf of our producers Kathleen Glynn and Michael Donovan from Canada, I'd like to thank the Academy for this. I have invited my fellow documentary nominees on the stage with us, and we would like to — they're here in solidarity with me because we like nonfiction. We like nonfiction and we live in fictitious times. We live in the time where we have fictitious election results that elects a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons. Whether it's the fictition of duct tape or fictition of orange alerts we are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you. And any time you got the Pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up. Thank you very much.

Well, er, yes Mr Anchovy, but you see your report here says that you are an extremely dull person. You see, our experts describe you as an appallingly dull fellow, unimaginative, timid, lacking in initiative, spineless, easily dominated, no sense of humour, tedious company and irrepressibly drab and awful. And whereas in most professions these would be considerable drawbacks, in chartered accountancy they are a positive boon.
