England, 932 A.D.

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

how else would they get to england?

Not at all. They could be carried.

It could grip it by the husk!

[identity profile] mrdankelly.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.

It could be carried by an African swallow!

You are migrating, you are nuts...coconuts are nuts, therefore they migrate. Logic. Good stuff.

On a practical note, do you have your work visa yet? You have a three months grace period before you need one, but it's a good thing to think about.
And you do know that even if y'all were to get married, there'd be a two year period in which you would have to have up to date visas before citizenship, right? I almost married a Brit a couple of years ago, so I dealt with all the legal/paperwork hassles. To quote Tom Lehr...Be prepared, that's the Boy Scouts marching song...And don't solicit for your sister that's not nice, unless you get a fair percentage of her price...
Sorry. Carry on.

Oddly, NPR just did a piece on migrating vegetables.

....going swallow hunting....purely for research, mind. Let ya know what I discover...

*I'm actually going to go have sex, but the other sounded more intellectual*

Coconuts are NOT nuts! They are hairy and give milk: therefore they are mammals.

You're forgetting that the koala is also hairy and gives milk, however it is a marsupial. Based on this startling evidence, I can only conclude that the coconut is a marsupial.
