CEPT: Multiple Sclerosis

A very dear childhood friend of mine has MS. He hasn't been able to work since February, has kids, and his disability hearing isn't for a couple months yet. Any resources anybody can think of I can pass along to help this guy would be greatly appreciated.

Tell him to get a good disability lawyer. The vast majority of folks with MS get denied their first time, and often their second time as well. He should get documentation for every last thing. Yes it is a PITA, but it's really hard to prove that you have MS even if you have a panel of experts.

Just in case you forget, my sister Sara that lives with me because of her having MS. We went through this a few years back. I am telling you what I know from experience.

He should immediately be going into his local state run help center for food stamps (if he needs them) and the Social Security office for application for SSI benefits.
