Two things:: one, it was loud enough in Madison Square Garden when Jimmy Snuka came out. But when the bagpipes hit for the next entrant and out came "The Rowdy One" himself, Roddy Piper, the place came unglued. Everything else in the ring stopped cold and just watched the Hot Rod and the Superfly go at it for a minute or so before they started up again.

Secondly, if you've followed the U.S. independent scene at all over the past five or six years you know who C.M. Punk is. While Piper and Snuka were going at it, the Punker is on the mat with what looks like a huge smile on his face and it's pretty obvious why. "Here I am in effing Madison Square Garden watching Snuka and Piper.. and I'm in the ring with them. I have arrived, baby!"

From reports, it sounds as if the Rumble itself was pretty good. Too bad about the bogus ending with Orton/Hardy. Jeff really, really deserves the championship right now, and they're obviously aiming towards either Cena or Hunter v. Orton at WM24. To which I say, meh.

Best pop though was when Cena's music hit. McMahon did a good job of fooling the public that he was ready to go after being out only 4 months when the original estimate was 12 months.
