After a phone call last night and talks with the roomie, we've decided to give little Dot a chance in the house after all. Because as her current pet human pointed out, some cats simply don't take to new people or new homes instantaneously. Dot certainly didn't with them, apparently. But we'll gladly take the lil' talker in and see how she does.

Actually, most cats don't take to new folks right away. Very set in their ways, they are, and they like things just SO. Mine get upset - really upset - if I rearrange the furniture, let alone anything else.

It sounds trite, but there is a spray you can get that mimics the pheremones a nursing mommy cat puts out to calm her kittens. It can really help relax the new member, and the current household felines, when she gets there. I sort of "poo-poo'd" the idea, too, until I saw it in action. Might look into that. :)

Good luck!
