Although when Metallica won the next year for the Black album, Lars had the best comment. "I guess the first thing is we have to thank Jethro Tull for not releasing an album this year."

Of course, all the What-the-fuck-ness can be easily explained. The voting committee is made up of old, rich, white guys who probably vote republican. I.e record company CEO's.
