"We have witnessed the Democrats at their ugliest," intones Tom DeLay, the top House Republican, in an angry press release. "The Democrat's [sic] character assassination of Miguel Estrada was a political hate crime."

The above article from The Nation can be found here.

Is this jackass on crack? CHARACTER assassination? Miguel Estrada was not confirmed because the man's legal opinions he wrote during his time in the Solicitor General's office - a practice other nominees have readily complied with - were not released, at any point, for any reason. Consideration of ANY judicial appointee(sp?) - liberal, conservative, or Silly Party - is ill advised at best.

Besides, I patently do not want to hear about character assassination from a party who tried to hound a sitting president out of office who lied about blowjobs.

Even more offensive, and less semantically nebulous, his use of the term "hate crime". DeLay, my friend, until you have run out (in mid-performance) of a crowded movie theater and seen the results of a young man beaten into a coma for what he does with his dick, and with the dicks of others, I will thank you not to bandy about that term.

Conservatives and Republicans, THIS is the kind of mental midget who gives you and yours a bad name by assocation.

Excuse me while I go punch a tree for a few minutes.

That is as ugly as the Democrats get. The Republicans get a lot uglier.
