Awright, you techheads..

What I want to do is copy my C drive, bag and baggage, to a higher capacity HD and thus be able to replace my current C drive with the new one.

do you have enough bays in your computer to install two HDs temporarily?

Yup. Well, enough I can remove one long enough for the job at hand, then replace it.

okay. you'll need the new hd in as well as the one you want to transfer the data from...

once you've got them both in, set one as the slave and install both and simply copy them. if you have the room you could even keep the first one.....most computers can have a Master and Slave drives.

Try xcopy. There are a million switches to it, and I'm too lazy to look at it right now :)

Also, if you're running Win2k or above, windoze doesn't have to live on C. [livejournal.com profile] dandelion_diva's puter has windoze on D instead.
