Major suckness.

I am feeling violently, almost homicidally angry and I have absolutely no concept as to why. That's the worst, when you can't even put a name to the problem. If you can, then it's halfway to being solved.

I do know that ever since I started this diet, I haven't just had mood swings, oh no. They've been entire fucking mood amusement parks.

And what REALLY sucks is half of you won't even see this until Livejournal gets their head out of their ass and turns the non-paid users ability to read their friends pages back on. One thing that REALLY pisses me off is these arrogant twats who look down their noses and say some variation on "pay or get out". Hope the air's good up there on Mount Olympus, you arrogant proles.

Mood swings, huh? Maybe you should look into the possibility that you may be hypoglycemic. Half my family are hypoglycemic and if they don't eat regularly, or eat the wrong things, they get really bitchy...

[identity profile] batty-starr.livejournal.com 2003-10-01 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you been taking anything with Ephedra in it? That stuff is really good at making you pissed off.

Live Journal sucks ass! I'm a paid user and it says I am supposed to get fast servers, but all the time it is slow, times out, won't let me post and I get "this page can not be displayed" about 5 million times a day. *kicks lj in the groin*

Get your sugar levels checked, and get your thyroid levels checked. Mood swings can be contributed to both. It's either that, or you are a LOT more femme than I thought... you arent pregnant or PMS'ing are you? :)

As for the way LJ servers are sucking, I wont go there and I am a paid user. If it sucks this bad for me, I would hate to see how bad it is for a non paying user. It really bites the long high hard one let me tell ya.

Clay with PMS??? That's way too scarey of a concept to go there.

Dude, get off the high horse! Quoting from the status page, which everyone should have bookmarked:

Paid users can still use their friends page, but we're closing off our payment area, lest anybody think this is a marketing ploy to get more sign-ups. We care more about the site being fast than your money.

Given the mood I'm in, it feels odd to have to tell somebody to calm down, but I will anyway. Check what I said: I never complained about paid users not being able to check their friends pages. What I complained about was a good portion of my friends list likely not seeing this post for hours on end. You of all damned people ought to know what I'm going through. To be told to get off my high horse is disappointing, to say the least.

You're missing both of my points - first, that they disabled the payment pages so they didn't come across as money-grubbing bastards, and second, that this information is available on a page that you can get to regardless of what LJ proper is doing. Moreover, had you followed the link, you'd've seen in what I didn't quote that the friends page is the ONLY page non-paid users can't access currently.

*deep breath* Things have gotten worse over here than since we last talked, and no, I don't much feel like talking about it. So I'm just going to walk away for now.

And you seem to be missing mine, but ain't none of it worth getting in a pissing match over. Read what I sent you in AIM, and you'll understand. Life has a way of kicking you square in the ass in ways that ain't pleasant, don't it?

from [livejournal.com profile] news
Due to a temporary surge in traffic caused by Speedera's caches filling up with everybody's userpics, we have to temporarily restrict access to friends pages. We're rushing to finish the new friends view code which uses memcached. It should only be for the afternoon (next few hours). As traffic drops tonight we'll turn friends pages back on.

Paid users can still use their friends page, but we're closing off our payment area, lest anybody think this is a marketing ploy to get more sign-ups. We care more about the site being fast than your money.

The rest of the site will still work for all users: comments, recent entry pages, etc. And hopefully it will work a lot better than currently, as friends pages are the biggest burden on the databases. We feel it's more important for the site to mostly work than to not work at all. Of course, our goal is for everything to work fast, and hopefully that'll happen tonight.

This is something we don't plan to do again, and regrettably can't be avoided today. Thanks for your understanding. We're all working as fast as we can....

i.. am entirely too loseriffic for my own good.

i'm a free user.

and i'm manually checking my friends' journals, 'cause i need to keep in touch.

i'm sorry that you're in a craptastic mood, though. if there was anything i could think of to do that'd help, i'd do it. *helpless shrug. BIG hig.* love ya, though. you're so many kinds of awesomeness it isn't even funny. *hughug.*

I don't know enough about what's going on with you to offer suggestions, but I do know enough to wish you well. I hope the mood swings even out soon and that your day improves.

well said.
sucking barley sugar won't do you any harm to your diet btw and will lessen the mood swings. i have been hypoglycaemic (the form of diabetes where on ehas to leep blood sugars up) for 10 years now so i do the same. not saying you are hypoglycaemic par se, but huge changes in diet can bring on a similar end result. if you don't like barley sugar, mints will so.

*petpet* have some protein, dear. it helps with those sugar swings, I promise. So does fiber.

Heh

You sound like a woman. Now we know you understand us (^_^)

I read your LJ saying basically "Don't read that last post!"
Which is a red flag waved in front of a bull.
