I was playing as the Incas and had already launched my ship for Alpha Centauri, victory was completely assured.

Throughout the game, Ragnar of the Vikings had been getting pissy with Queen Elizabeth and by this point of the game had gone to war with her, taking York and Hastings. I was still just waiting for the Space Race victory by this point until Ragnar made a very foolish mistake. He took London.

I have been convinced my whole life I'm British, I was just born in the wrong country is all. So when ol horn head took London I immediately declared war and proceeded to wipe the Viking civilization from the face of the Earth. Sucks to be ol' spinach chin (get THAT reference and I'll shake your hand!).

Victory was not assured. The ship, even with all components, can fail. Kind of a shock when you click "End Turn" with one turn to victory and life goes on.

I'd guess. I've gotten deep into playing one of the mods from the BtS content, Next War Epic. Sending assault mechs after pain in the ass neighbor countries? Win!
