I'm not ten minutes into watching the episode yet

It's him. He really is The Doctor.

I have held off saying this for the past two Doctors now, but this is the first time (for me, anyway, and yeah I know some serious YMMV applies here) since Colin Baker the Doctor has really felt like The Doctor. Sylvester McCoy's Doctor was an annoying little nit with an umbrella (although I think that was because JNT wouldn't have known a good story if it was tattooed on the end of his unit), McGann never really got a chance, and under RTD The Doctor felt more like just a couple of blokes with a TARDIS and oodles of Dramuh.

I know what I just said will be considered blasphemy by some, and again Your Mileage May Vary, but a few years ago the show came back. Now, for me at least, The Doctor is finally back.

Welcome to the TARDIS, Matt Smith, and for smeg's sake stay a while!

I enjoyed #9 and #10, and after seeing this first episode I am happy to say I expect to enjoy #11 just as much. :) (I think my favorite is still Baker, but that's partially due to the fact that he was the Doctor in most of the episodes I watched when growing up.

He had me at the apples. And the swimming pool.

I 100% agree with this statement. I got to see it before you all (ha! ha! I'm in the UK at the moment). And he IS the Doctor. I fell in love with it right away!
