See, folks..

There's this community that, after an I thought off hand queestion from the gloriously gorgeous
idiomagic, marshalled forces, passed the hat and sent me care packages to ease the load we've been under. All because I'm a debatably(sp?) nice guy and they just wanted to help throw a few rays of sunshine my way.
The community I refer to is
wellwishers. How they do it is thusly (cut and pasted from
girlsknowbest:
We hear a need from someone, we post the need, we each throw in one buck and when all those one bucks get to be enough to grant the wish, we send it over.
it only costs everyone a dollar but it adds up. we do one every week, so four bucks a month to just feel like you're contributing to what is good in the world, I guess. Pretty cheap, if you ask me.
Of course, sometimes people do over-donate, but we only ASK for one dollar. haha.
Passing the hat and such.
That's the gist of it, folks. They could always use more folks around, so go give them a look. I guarantee some of the stories you'll read there will help you feel at least a little better and maybe a touch less cynical about the shape of things on this tired old world.
EDIT: I should hasten to add that a further friend helped with situation of this morning. You know who you are and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
