They want $3.5k in cash? That's insane. What does your lawyer say? Can you get hold of him/her?

In cash is illegal at that amount.

You show them the monitor that you have the money. Offer to transfer it to a BANK.
Paypal will do that. But DO NOT do this on your own. Offer to do it, do it. Get them to write you a receipt because my suspicion factor is REALLY kicking in now.

They want cash?
The sheriff hasn't posted an eviction notice on your door?

PAYPAL BANK TRANSFER

Let me repeat the above from both people who mentioned it

PAYPAL CAN TRANSFER MONEY TO A BANK ACCOUNT.

and NO EVICTION NOTICE ,NO EVICTION.

They CANNOT kick you out physically without a direct LEGAL notification and eviction notice.

And the WHOLE situation stinks. I'd be talking to a lawyer about a LOT of things at this point.

Damn straight. You're being outright robbed. They can't evict you without notice. Regardless of what your lease states, you cannot be evicted without a minimum of 2 weeks notice in the absolute worst states in the US. [I don't know where you are.]

These people are attempting to rob you. Request information from your bank for notarized evidence, tell them you are not responding to them as your information says you are in solid legal standing and in posession of the building.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING. LEAST OF ALL PAY.

The bank will show that they have been paying. That's your responsibility. Everything else is, quite honestly, not your job. You've paid your bills using the information they provided. If they provided bad information or there's a bank fuck up somewhere, that's not on your head. That's on the banks head, or on the other guy's head.

Contact the county sherrif. Provide him with all information. This is not a legal undertaking and you need legal counsel beyond your one lawyer.

It's Missouri, hon, just like me. If I remember my landlord-tenant law, he has 30 days to get out after a notice of eviction.

You are absolutely correct. Also, that's from PAPER served. Being told on the phone isn't sufficient. Also, evidence of being served is necessary. If they don't have it, it didn't happen.

What everyone else said.

DO NOT PAY THEM IN CASH. BANK TRANSFER ONLY.

If they insist that you are to be evicted, demand to see the eviction notice that is legally required.

Keep calling your lawyer.

Demand to contact the police department even if they show up with cops. Scammy fuckers will show up with a friend dressed in a uniform.

Call your lawyer. In cash = no paper trail.

NOT COOL.

Please don't let them screw you over!
