It never f*cking ends

For those wondering as to why I haven't updated much, the plain answer is between shell shock over the apartment and lack of anything to update about, I just haven't. Unfortunately, as of this morning I have something to update about.

It would seem Jacobs Realty managed to sneak through a garnishment on the account. As of right now, Herself will be working for the next two and a half months for the sole purpose of paying those bastards off. To make matters worse, I needed to renew the room this morning and now quite obviously can't.

So let's review - no money to live on until the middle of March and no way to renew the room. I'm going to be talking to the lawyer this morning, obviously, to see what we can do but the plain fact of the matter is we are screwed and screwed hard until I can get something sorted. To make matters worse, I now have to call Ranada later and tell her what's happened. It'll kill her, sure as anything.

So it's with shaky hands and utterly numb that yet again I'm going to have to get out that old battered hat. I'll update again as events warrant but right now I need big help and I need it fast or we're in deep trouble. God I'm so sorry I have to do this again but I literally have no choice for now.

Oh, crap, hon. What happened? I thought you had enough in donations to pay them off.

If we hadn't just had to deal with vet bills I would be glad to help more, but we're pretty skint ourselves at the moment.

I was so sure we could find a place quick but it's been pretty well chewed up and spat out by being in a hotel for two months almost. Besides, that was on PayPal and this went right to the bank account. Signal boosting would be a huge help, though.

Her account was taken up with the fighting the legal hassles that piece of psychotic bilge Don Fries was putting us through or we wouldn't even be having this discussion. The point is we are now thorooughly buggered with no real means of relief in sight. So I need to turn to you lot for help.

Because living in a hotel is really expensive. Besides the cost of the hotel, there's food to consider. If you have a kitchenette, that means the hotel room is more expensive. If you don't, you have to buy premade food. And then there's laundry. All coin-operated, all the time.

Those are just the things off the top of my head. If a big chunk of Ranada's paycheck was taken up with legal fees, which usually do not come at bargain prices, I can definitely see that money going to help them survive.

Does not work that way here. Here, if you're homeless, you're SOL.

Doc, I'll be sending something after payday. *HUGS*

Jenny, I hope this still holds true. PayPal's down for me, is Western Union an option?

[identity profile] j3nny3lf.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Western Union is really bad because of how much they charge to send cash. I'd have to deduct it from what I can send you..

Is there an address I can send a cashier's check to?

Actually, these days if it's under 50 bucks they only charge 5 bucks to send cash. True story.

Water heater blew out

None of the techs we had checking out the carbon monoxide noticed the water heater had been leaking for a very long time.

I'm looking at shelling 2K in roughly 4 weeks.

Oh, charming.

Oh yeah

[identity profile] disgruntledgrrl.livejournal.com 2010-12-30 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
As of this morning, I'm now looking at a 9k bill. Which they'll want in chunks of 3 - 1/3 down, 1/3 at the half way point and 1/3 upon completion.
So ... instead of 2k in 4 weeks

I gotta come up with 3k in 2 weeks.
Shit.
The water heater is in cahoots with the gas line. We've been smelling exhaust for the past few weeks and have been trying to fix it. One roommate said the carbon monoxide alarm recorded a lot of peaks.
So this has become a "let's not have everyone die quietly in their sleep" situation.

I am so sorry this happened. I can't understand why you weren't able to snag an apartment with 2k available. Maybe you need to tell that state to fuck off.

Um. If PayPal pays into her account and her account is garnished? That is a problem, and I'm unsure it would work, now? How would you get any PayPal money out, if her account is garnished?

I am really sorry to have to ask these questions. Yet they need to be considered.

They can be transferred there if I initiate the transfer which for obvious reasons I'm not going to.
