If you're one of the people who actually thinks I'm making all this crap up and have absconded with the dough, why don't you call Jacobs Realty, Landmark Bank or any of places I've had to call home for the past near six months?

Oh yes - apparently U-Haul sold off the contents of our storage shed. It wasn't supposed to be until today. I was trying to arrange the bucks to stop it, but they apparently sold it all on Thursday. Oh my God.. my life work was in that shed (my music collection). My clothes, all our stuff. It's all gone. I literally now have nothing except the clothes on my back and what's in the car.

I had just pulled up your journal yesterday trying to see if there was news...

I'm so terribly sorry this has happened to you. *hugs*

Wages, still climbing out from under the mountain of crap that accumulated while the block was on the account. The apartment fell through because she hadn't bothered to tell us we couldn't move in until June, for pity's sake. That's a heck of a detail to leave out.

Oh, for fuck's sake. This is not what he needs to hear. And if we're playing that game, I'm also a long time friend.

Last year, there was work being done on our house, so my family and I stayed in a forty dollar a night motel. Dirt cheap. It had free internet. Cheaper hotels are downright scary.

There's free internet at McDonald's now. The idea that he should go without a connection to the world because you think it's too extravagant is ridiculous.

Your situation is not his situation.

He's working his ass off to find a way out. Sometimes, there is no way out. When I was homeless in 2002, there was no way out for *months*. No matter what we did. Sometimes, the world is a shit sandwich and that's the end of it.

Lots of things are impossible. When you're poor in America, impossible is the word of the day. Someone remaining homeless does not equate to that person wanting to be homeless or throwing cash around. Especially in the current economy.

Clay, babe. I am *NOT* saying give up. I'm saying that I know you're doing your level best. I also know that one day, things will turn around. This can't be forever. You'll get out of this.

I love you.

If they broke contract and sold your stuff before they were suppose to be able to do so, I'd suggest seeing if you could find someone who needs the pro bono hours and sue them.

I don't know who's been accusing you of scamming people, but it's pretty obvious that you're not.

The storage shed thing... that's just horrible. I'm so sorry.

Keep looking for a way out. Plenty of people who hit rock bottom find ways to recover. You will too.

Christ get out of that damned state

Seems everything that keeps happening to you requires a lawyer and I know there should be lawyers out there willing to take a Pro Bono "We win, we get paid" kinda a lawyers here in Texas and Florida. Those places are packed with starving lawyers.

Oh I can help with the music collection. I did before. I'll do it better this time (^_^).

I have to second the part about considering getting the hell out of Missouri. I know Ranada has a job there and all but OTOH if you have nothing left to lose anyway, well, then... what is there to lose?

"The apartment fell through because she hadn't bothered to tell us we couldn't move in until June, for pity's sake. That's a heck of a detail to leave out."

So no apartment at all or holding pattern?

Well let's get cracking on ideas

Give me a list of as much as you can remember. I'll scour ebay. People that stuff from Uhaul areas ebay it quite quickly. If I can locate stuff, I'll let you know - you post HERE and in lieu of sending you cash (which is more fubared than getting money to Wiki Leaks) we can all buy your belongings back and then send them to you when you're settled. Your stuff is safe with trusted friends. No storage fees.

Get me your address and I'll send you some more clothes. You said the last 3 shirts I sent you fit, right?
Well, my father's not coming back. I actually hold onto stuff in case a friend has a fire.
Seriously.
You concentrate on getting money and getting out of this mess. No don't look at these instructions with an excuse ready. I know you've tried a lot of things. But I also know frustrated people.
Example: true Story
Guy called me fed up with his pc. I asked him "Are you standing next to the computer?"
"You're gonna have to use plain English with me. I'm completely computer illiterate."
He was so wound up and expecting to not understand me that ... he didn't understand "Are you standing next to the computer?"
People get that way.

Get every damn scrap of paper related to this and go over it. Too many damn things have bitten you in the ass over and over on this situation. Also go back over your entries and notice how every few years, you get screwed in a similar pattern. This is the worse it's been.

The lawyer getting disbarred? Do some research, see if the bar association in your area can come up with someone to take over.

ACE check cashing. I hit a downward spiral and I hit the breaks by using them.
I'll spare you the details that are BURNED IN MY MIND but it took me 2 years to get out of the hole. I had to use ACE to stash my cash. Sure it cost $10 a month. But In lieu of having my bank hold a check for 1 week and releasing it after there were enough charges to remove over half the check - it was worth it. When I saw that Rinse-Repeat cycle, I buggered out. I stayed bankless until I had to get an account to turn $4500 into a cashier's check for my house.
Yeah I had that in my car, going bank to bank but's another LJ entry under the house saga tags.

Shit I wish I had seen the Uhaul entry.

And Doc, these are what I'm grabbing quickly. When you can, please tell us your favorites and we'll work on getting those back first. I know you're more into metal than I am, but I don't mind dling it for you. Just clue me which tracks.

You're right, I forgot the spambot factor, so I've taken down that post. However, yes, close those gaps and send mp3s to that address - 4 doc w music @gmail.com . I've checked it and it is working - the songs are arriving into that account.

This is a way of passing the hat, but for music rather than cash. I really hope that we can help Doc rebuild his music collection digitally, this way.

I just read this Doc, I'm so sorry. I hope you've been taking advantage of all the public services available to someone in your situation. It's a metric ton of paperwork, but you'll get food, clothes and maybe emergency housing.
